Worthle

Every month, the UK's Office for National Statistics gathers prices for a "shopping basket" of over 700 goods and services from approximately 20,000 retail outlets around the country. For each one of the items in the basket, there are dozens of entries.

Each day, Worthle collects all of these prices for one of the items in the basket to find the maximum, minimum and mean (average) price.

Just for fun, can you correctly guess the average price of today's item? Keep trying to get the right price but don't guess too high or you will go bust.

After each turn, the numbers in the box gives a range for how far you are from the actual answer.

A new item appears every day at midnight.
